         The day for the
annual March For Life in Washington, DC dawned both cold and
cloudy.  Cold because it was this exact day in the winter
of 1973 that the United States Supreme Court announced its Roe v
Wade decision but did not examine the scientific evidence that
        the
yet unborn child carried by its mother was a human.  The
decision led to the legalization of abortion in all 59
states.  The clouds which covered most of the blue sky that
morning could portray the resulting confusion as the total of
infant abortions has now risen to more than 64 million in the
United States.  But the blue sky which did appear later
announced that while some of our country's leaders seem to
support the view that the expectant mother has the right to use
taxpayer money to end the life of the yet unborn child in her
womb, the true dignity and value of each human life will
          be recognized.

The number of marching participants expected to attend was greatly reduced this year because the COVID travel restrictions and the need to maintain a necessary distance between participants. However, many participated the March virtually to share their commitment to the Life Principles identified so clearly presented by Jeanne Mancini, president of March For Life.
She explained how the 2021 March Theme
Together Strong: Life Unites" encourages both those invited
pro-life leaders and the many thousands who followed the March
virtually to lead all pro-life Americans to contribute in their
own unique ways and unite in working to make abortion
unthinkable and build a culture where every human life is valued
and protected.  She said, "The right to life is a human
right.  Our defense of that right is a joyful witness to
the beauty and dignity of every human person.  Each of us
has a critical and irreplaceable role to play in building a
culture of life."  She quoted the words of Mother Teresa of

Calcutta, "'You can do what I cannot do.  I can do what you
cannot do.  Together we can do great things.'" She
        concluded by saying, "But
         this is not just
      a gathering to protest. .
.  we gather together to celebrate life.  We celebrate
each and every life, from the moment of conception.  We
envision a world where every life is celebrated, valued, and
        protected."
